The VA Central Western Massachusetts Healthcare System is part of the VA New England Healthcare System (the Veterans Integrated Service Network 1, also known as VISN 1). VA Central Western Massachusetts includes a medical center in Northampton and community-based outpatient clinics in Fitchburg, Greenfield, Pittsfield, Springfield, and Worcester.
For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout our facilities. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations.
Northampton Medical Center Security
The Northampton Campus has a Police Service. Our officers provide 24-hour patrols of the Northampton facility and parking lots. For general police assistance, dial (413) 584-4040, extension 2443 or 3029. In case of an emergency, use extension 2444. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses to the VA Police while on the facility grounds as soon as possible.
Because the medical center is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.
A nondenominational chapel is located across from Building 1 in Northampton by the rear parking lot. Protestant worship services and Catholic Mass are held on a regular basis. Please contact the Chaplain Service by calling the Medical Center main number (413) 584-4040, extension 2281, for additional information or to speak with one of our chaplains.
